Matt
Matt Lohr loves living life to the fullest. In 38 years, he has personally visited
with former President George Bush four times, ridden a bull, hiked the Grand Canyon,
flown a plane, climbed Mt. Fuji, been elected to political office, won a new Dodge
truck, and witnessed the amazing birth of his two children, Caroline and Carson.
Matt has traveled over one million miles across all 50 states and eight countries
entertaining both students and adults. His childhood adventures, interactive skits,
and inspirational words have been a crowd favorite at over 2,000 schools, banquets,
training's, and leadership conferences. Matt first developed a passion for speaking
as a young FFA member in high school and went on to serve as state FFA president
and national FFA vice president. After graduating from Virginia Tech in 1995, he
and his wife Andrea founded the company "New Directions" Communications to spread
their positive message. Matt is a former middle school teacher and an active partner
in his family's beef, poultry, and pumpkin operation. He has chaired his county
School Board, Planning Commission, and Farm Bureau and served five years in the
Virginia State Legislature before being appointed by Governor McDonnell to serve
as the Virginia State Commissioner of Agriculture & Consumer Services.

Andrea
With a strong southern accent, Andrea Lohr has been energizing audiences nationwide
for over 15 years. Originally from southwestern Kentucky, she now makes her home
with Matt in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Matt and Andrea met at a national
FFA conference back in 1990 and were married five years later. She is a 1996 graduate
of the University of Kentucky, where she was an avid Wildcat fan! Andrea was very
active in FFA and also served as state FFA president. She went on to work with the
National FFA Made For Excellence staff, the Washington Leadership Conference staff,
the Blast Off training staff, the Life Knowledge program, and as a coach for the
national FFA officers. Andrea taught middle school for four years before becoming
a full time Mom in June of 2001. Together Andrea and Matt travel and present dozens
of joint keynotes, workshops, and leadership conferences each year. Andrea has a
masters degree in counseling from James Madison University and served seven years
on the Virginia State Board of Agriculture.

Caroline and Carson
Matt and Andrea are blessed with two beautiful children. Caroline Belle was born
in 2001 and recently Carson Jacob joined the family in September of 2005. Although
they haven't mastered the microphone yet, they have already opened their frequent
flier accounts. Caroline and Carson provide tons of entertainment and excitement,
not to mention some priceless speech material.
